Bonded Fields was founded on a simple belief: when families grow together, communities become stronger.
What began as a dream shared by Jim and Malissa Perine has grown into a mission to inspire others through faith, practical homesteading, and lifelong learning. Nestled in southwest Alabama, Bonded Fields is more than a homestead—it's a place where lessons are learned, stories are shared, and people are encouraged to reconnect with the land and with one another.
Our journey hasn't been perfect, and we don't pretend it is. We've celebrated successes, learned from setbacks, and discovered that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. We believe those honest experiences are some of the best teachers, and we're committed to sharing them so others can begin or strengthen their own homesteading journey with confidence.
At Bonded Fields, you'll find practical education on no-till gardening, raising chickens and livestock, soil stewardship, and sustainable food production. Through our videos, podcast, and future on-farm learning experiences, our goal is to make homesteading approachable, encouraging, and achievable for families in every stage of life.
Faith is the foundation of everything we do. We believe God has entrusted us to care for His creation and to use the gifts He's given us to serve others. Whether we're planting a garden, building a new project, or welcoming visitors to the farm, we strive to reflect biblical values of stewardship, integrity, generosity, and hard work.
Bonded Fields is also a family story.
Jim serves as a pastor while balancing full-time work and the daily responsibilities of building the homestead. His passion is helping others discover that faith and practical living go hand in hand.
Malissa is an elementary math coach and educator who believes learning should be engaging, meaningful, and accessible to everyone. Her love for teaching helps shape the educational vision of Bonded Fields and our commitment to creating resources that equip and encourage families.
Together, we are building more than a homestead—we are building a legacy. Our vision is to develop Bonded Fields into a place where families, schools, churches, homeschool groups, and beginning homesteaders can learn practical skills, experience the joy of growing their own food, and leave inspired to cultivate stronger homes and communities.
Whether you've been homesteading for years or you're planting your very first seed, we're glad you're here.
Welcome to Bonded Fields.
